Dear Beloved Co-workers in Christ,

We give thanks to God for allowing us to begin the year 2026 with hope and expectation by His grace.

We sincerely thank all of you who continually support our family and ministry through your prayers and financial partnership. We send this prayer letter to you from Tokyo, Japan.

January: New Year Fasting Prayer Meeting

Every year, during the New Year holiday season, our entire church gathers for a 3-night, 4-day fasting prayer meeting.

In Japan, the New Year holiday period, called “Shogatsu,” is typically a time when families gather to eat, drink, and spend time together.

Our church members chose to gather at church, fasting and preparing for the new year through the Word and prayer. It was a precious time where we experienced the work of the Holy Spirit.

For 2026, we are holding onto the Lord’s Great Commission, “Go and make disciples,” and we pray that this will be a year bearing abundant spiritual fruit.

February: Visit from a Short-Term Mission Team

A short-term mission team from Korea visited us.University students came and joined us in evangelism at Waseda University.

Japan is a mission field where less than 1% of the population is Christian.Although there is religious freedom, it is surprising how little the gospel has been spread.

However, whenever the gospel is shared, there are always hearts that respond.

This time as well, several students listened to the gospel until the end, and we were able to exchange contact information with them.

Please pray that these connections will continue, and that these souls will be nurtured and come to truly meet the Lord.

March: Domestic Short-Term Mission in Japan

In March, our church’s college group went on a short-term mission trip to Ichibaku Church in Nara Prefecture, Japan. After the senior pastor of Ichibaku Church collapsed due to a brain hemorrhage, the church has been sustained mainly by his wife.

Although the time was short, our college students were able to serve locally through:

  • Street evangelism

  • Musical performances

  • Dance

  • Sharing Korean food

The members of Ichibaku Church were very joyful, and especially the pastor’s wife and children shared that they received great comfort and encouragement.

In fact, it became a time where we ourselves received even greater joy and gratitude.

Through this mission, we give thanks to God that our college students experienced:

  • The joy of serving

  • The fruit of souls

and received abundant grace.

Baptism Service

At the end of March, we held a baptism service.

There were:

  • 5 baptisms

  • 1 confirmation of faith

  • 1 infant baptism

This was our first baptism service in about a year and a half, and we are truly grateful that it was the largest number of candidates we have had.

Among them, two students were connected through evangelism by our son, Youngjun, at his university.

We are thankful for his passion for evangelism, and we rejoice that through his efforts, souls have come to meet the Lord.

Please continue to pray that those who were baptized will grow well as disciples of Christ.
